Long term camps

Camp Augustine: Camp Augustine is located just south of Grand Island. Our troop will be staying at the Tipi campsite in authentic-style teepees! This is a great chance for First-Year Campers to get the requirements for First Class mostly finished. There are plenty of merit badge opportunities for older scouts as well! This includes 6 of the 12 required merit badges for Eagle. Talk to Scoutmaster Mowry to sign up.

Northern Tier High Adventure: We have obtained 2 crew reservations for the Northern Expeditions base of Northern Tier High Adventure Bases located at Bissett, Manitoba. Our 8 day trek will begin on July 16th and conclude on July 23rd. Including 4 days of travel to and from Bissett this will be a 12 day trip into the Canadian wilderness. Our trek from Bissett will begin and end with an exciting floatplane ride through the Canadian bush country. We will spend 6 days paddling the beautiful and rugged wilderness of the Atikaki Provincial Park, a great destination for trophy fishing and remote adventure.

Each of our crews may contain a maximum of 12 with the majority being Scouts (must be 13 years of age by July 16, 2008). Presently we have room remaining for a few Scouts and/or Leaders. Trip costs are as follows: $400 trek fees, $200 float plane, van rental $100, Fuel $100, $100 passport fee (for those not holding a passport currently), incidental travel and shopping expense, and travel expense yet to be determined. If all spots are not filled with members of our Troop we will solicit from other Troops to fill these crews.
